Learning Among the Urban Poor

 

Do you want to learn how you can best serve the urban poor?  Come and learn through relationships and life among the poor.  Servant Partners internships provide a chance to gain experience and explore how you can most effectively use your unique skills to be a part of the solution to urban poverty.
 

Two Year Internship- Greater Los Angeles area & Oakland, California

Servant Partner’s Two year Internship is an action-based ‘urban seminary’ experience, providing intensive training in urban church planting. Interns live and minister in urban poor communities in the Los Angeles area or in Oakland. A short term mission experience in Manila, the Philippines, kicks off the training. It is designed to provide foundational experience and preparation for people seriously considering urban poor work in the U.S. or overseas.

International Internship- Manila, The Phillipines

For 6 weeks to 6 months in Manila, you can experience life firsthand in a slum community. Participants stay in homes, build relationships, and participate in the ministry of a local church in a squatter community. Interns receive biblical teaching on urban ministry, visit other thriving ministries in the city, take strategic prayer walks, and discover the ways other parts of the city impact squatter life. For mature individuals 18 and over.

Short Term U.S. Internships- Los Angeles, California

For a weekend, week, or month, interns live in urban poor neighborhoods and serve alongside community-based organizations that are working to address neighborhood needs in Los Angeles.  Ideal for university students or others who have limited experience and exposure to urban ministry, who want to take a plunge into experiencing God's heart for the city.
